1. Fix Moisture Source

The first thing we do is identify where the moisture is coming from — perhaps a leaking pipe, an improperly sealed window, or high humidity in a basement. Until that’s fixed, mold will keep finding places to grow. We’ll coordinate with you (and any plumbers or repair teams if needed) to ensure the root cause is addressed before we move ahead.

2. Isolate & Prepare

Once the moisture source is handled or at least under control, we prepare the space. That means sealing off the affected area, creating containment zones so mold spores don’t spread to clean parts of the home. It's important to have furniture removed from the area prior to our arrival.

3. Remove Porous

Next we remove all materials that have been compromised by the mold — for example drywall, insulation, carpeting, padding, or other porous materials that cannot be fully cleaned. This gives us access to the underlying surfaces and ensures the mold doesn’t just sit behind the scenes waiting to return.

Clean & Disinfect

We can then clean all remaining surfaces (walls, studs, joists, sub‑flooring) using specialized detergents, antimicrobial solutions or approved mold‑kill treatments. (not bleach!) Then we make sure everything is completely dry, using dehumidifiers and drying fans — because if anything stays damp, the problem can start all over again.

5. Build Back

Once cleaning and drying are done, we will estimate and then begin the “build back” phase: replacing drywall and painting, essentially restoring your home. We’ll also keep an eye on humidity levels and give you practical advice about ventilation or dehumidification to minimize future mold risk.

6. Mitigation

Finally, we perform a final inspection to ensure the removal was successful — making sure no moisture issues remain. We’ll walk you through how to prevent mold from coming back: simple habits like keeping indoor humidity under control, running exhaust fans in bathrooms/kitchens, etc.
